I graduated from the University Of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I moved to Florida in 2000 to teach Biology at Boca Raton High School. In 2004, I had the opportunity to open Park Vista High School and I still currently teach there. I specialize in Advanced Placement Biology and Anatomy & Physiology. My current pass rate for the AP Biology exam is 96% and I am rated as a highly effective teacher in Palm Beach County. I am currently certified by the State of Florida in biology (6-12). I’m proud to be a National Board Certified Teacher and a Dwyer Award Finalist for STEM education.
I enjoy helping students to understand and connect with a challenging curriculum. I employ a wide variety of strategies to connect with my students and to enhance their learning process. I have years of experience tutoring and know the benefits and growth a student can achieve through one-on-one time.
