I currently hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science degree in Teaching and Learning. I have endorsements in Gifted, Reading, and ESOL. I have experience tutoring students for Summer Reading Academy, after school FSA review, Saturday Success Academy, and Saturday Science Tutorial. I strive to constantly challenge myself. This, in turn, has led me to become a better teacher.
I have several years of experience working with children in various settings. I have worked for both public and private schools from South Miami to West Palm Beach, in urban and suburban environments. The student populations varied not only in their socioeconomic levels, but in the students’ abilities, from two years below grade level to gifted.
In my current teaching position, a variety of approaches are utilized to draw a connection between real-life experiences and the subjects of math, science, and writing. Students respond best when they are an integral part of their own learning. I, therefore, use a variety of hands-on activities, games, experiments, and materials to help students gain a better understanding of the concepts being introduced, supported, and/or enriched.
Working with children provides me great enjoyment, and I look forward to the opportunity to bring my skills and passion to your child.
