Hello. This is my story.

I am a graduate of the University of Louisville, where I received my Masters in Reading, and my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Currently I serve as an assistant professor, where I work with teachers to help them understand evidenced based strategies to support the needs of all learners. With over 13 years of teaching experience, I have worked in elementary and middle school settings. While I have a broad range of interests, much of my research centers on innovative curriculum development that speaks to the lives of the students I teach. In this way, I find building a relationship with my students an invaluable resource as learning about them as individuals helps to develop curriculum that reflects who they are, and their specific needs. Often my lesson will involve age-appropriate music, and pop culture to elevate engagement and investment in the learning process. While I’m eager to work with all learners, I have a unique skill to pull the best out of struggling or reluctant students. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, reading academic journal articles, and staying healthy through Crossfit. I’m available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 3:00-5:00 p.m. and evenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I service Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, and West Palm Beach areas.
