Hello. This is my story.
I have a BA in Foreign Languages from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and an MA in Elementary Education from The University of Central Florida. I discovered I wanted to be a teacher after I graduated with my BA and moved to Italy as my mother’s side of the family lived there and I wanted to experience “La Dolce Vita”. There, I taught English as a Second Language to adult students and Italian to US military personnel stationed in Italy. I also privately taught young Italian children English. These experiences helped me discover my passion for teaching.
Two years later, I returned to the US to seek my master’s degree and teaching credentials. I taught 2nd grade for four years in the Orange County Public School System in Orlando, FL. I then moved to Asheville, NC to marry my husband and taught English as a Second Language to students in grades K-5 in the public schools. While in NC, I also became a mom to two wonderful daughters! I took some time off from teaching to be a stay-at-home mom.
My family and I later moved to Palm Beach County. Over the last five years I have continued teaching in a variety of capacities. I taught VPK and Spanish to preschoolers and have been a substitute teacher in the school district of Palm Beach County. I look forward to continuing my teaching adventures.
I believe that all students can learn and be successful. As a teacher, I feel that it is essential to use a wide variety of teaching strategies focusing on each student’s strengths and individual learning styles.
