Hello. This is my story.

I have been working with youth for a decade, beginning my teaching
career with a teaching internship in Iquitos, Peru, working with
non-native English speakers. I trained at the Center for Intensive
English Studies at Florida State University where we worked with
non-native English students from around the world.

The last five years I have spent in the classroom at a high school
level. I am particularly skilled at working with grades 6-12. I have
taught several subjects within the English department, including English
for speakers of other languages (ESOL), AICE Language, Intensive
Reading, AVID, and Professional and Leadership classes. I also recently
spent a year teaching college freshmen writing at Florida Atlantic
University while pursuing a Masters of Arts in English.

I excel at SAT preparation, teaching grammar, reading comprehension,
writing, including using proper citation and formatting. My philosophy
is that if I can make the material relevant to the student, then the
learning easily occurs. I have a lot of energy and am able to connect
easily with students so that they feel comfortable pushing themselves
and making mistakes with me. I give high praise, yet I also work hard,
and expect my students to also work hard.

I am available late afternoons and evenings during the week, as well as
Saturdays. I am willing to travel between Palm Beach Gardens and Delray.
