Hello. This is my story.
Hello, my name is Rich Brust. I grew up on Long Island, New York. I developed a passion and interest in science at a very young age from a rather peculiar place, the movie Ghostbusters, and have been cultivating that interest ever since. I received my BS in chemistry with a minor in forensic science from Hofstra University, having won teaching and service awards for my work as a teaching assistant and tutor. Then, I transitioned to Stony Brook University where I received my Ph.D. in chemistry with an emphasis in chemical biology where I continued to develop my mentoring and teaching skills by assisting in the training of undergraduate and high school interns. After completing my doctoral degree, I moved to Palm Beach County where I started a postdoctoral fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute (now UF Scripps Biomedical Research). In addition to my research experience, I am an instructor at Palm Beach State College.
