Hello. This is my story.

I currently teach AICE English Language and AP English Literature & Composition at Fort Lauderdale High School as an educator within the Cambridge Program. I obtained my MA in English Literature at Florida Atlantic University where I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant while composing my thesis. Upon completing my degree, I was hired at FAU as a Full-time Instructor. Working as an English Professor allowed me to teach a variety of courses in both Literature and Composition. It also helped me better familiarize myself with the skills and resources needed as an educator in high school. Being aware of what college writing professors expect from their students has uniquely equipped me with the skills needed to prepare high school students for collegiate success.

Besides working as a teacher for The Broward County School Board, I have steadily worked as a tutor, focusing on College Test Prep and essay writing. For the last twelve years, I have tutored a variety of students from all grade levels. Working with both traditional and non-traditional students has helped me master the scholarship, adaptability, and interpersonal skills needed in this profession.

Overall, I am dedicated to the success of my students and try to instill a sense of confidence and curiosity as they work to achieve their academic goals. While I am wholly committed to teaching at the highest level of critical thinking and writing, I recognize the challenges many students face and therefore maintain an empathic and supportive pedagogical mindset.
