“A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others”
Hello. This is my story.
I was born in Indiana and had the privilege of being raised in the Midwest where I discovered a love for the smaller things in life. I had family living in Florida and I always enjoyed coming down here over the years, so once I was all done with school, I decided to move to South Florida in 2014. I attended Purdue University where I received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education. I always knew I was going to have a career in mathematics, but it wasn’t until I stepped foot into the classroom that I realized I had a passion for teaching mathematics to others. Seeing the impact I could have on a student’s life was almost overwhelming to me at first – something I would come to love quickly. I knew that making a difference in someone’s life was important to me and so I knew fairly quickly that I wanted to become a teacher.
My teaching career began in 2014 and as of now I have four years of experience. I spent two years in Port St Lucie where I taught Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. Along with these courses, we did extensive work with the PERT Exam to help our students prepare as much as possible. In 2016 I wanted to move closer to family, so I spent the next two years in Palm Beach Gardens where I taught Liberal Arts Mathematics and Geometry. I currently live in Boynton Beach, but I am willing to travel anywhere from Jupiter down to Deerfield Beach. I am available seven days a week any time after 4 pm.
